It's a SALE! Last Chance for BCon 2014 Print Bundle!

ryuredwingsreturn:

Hey all!

So, I have to make room in the Etsy store since I plan on having at least 3 new prints added by the end of next month. We’re going to (hopefully) have two Halloween special prints, and a surprise one! But in order to keep the Etsy bill low, I need to get rid of stuff. So, to do that, I thought a clearance sale would be kind of nice! Just enter the coupon code CHRYSSYLUV25 to get 25% off your order!

Stuff on the Chopping Block:

  • Bronycon 2014 Print Bundle
  • Original Sketch: Gala Twilight Sparkle
  • CMC: POW! print

All that stuff up there is gonna be GONE by the end of the month! If you want them, you better jump on ‘em by then!

Signal boost to my 9 followers

they are pretty awesome prints

Oh Netflix…
You had better be right about this.

Wow… I never thought dubbing could ruin a show. As a person who prefers dubs over subtitles, the dubbing in this show is absolutely awful.

i mean. its ok if personally you prefer girls who arent hairy. but like. think critically about why. like fucking take a step back and really assess why its so important to you that girls don’t grow hair in places they do and why it doesn’t matter on men. im serious. come back to me and tell me one good reason. give examples and show your work. its due on my desk monday morning

Because I don’t want to fuck a girl that’s masculine. Same reason I wouldn’t date a woman with a dick or a beard.

How’s that?

How’s that?  Hmmm…. Lets see.  It is not your place to decide how a woman should look.  It is not masculine for a woman to have hair.  It is natural.  As a trans*woman who is pre-op, It is people with that state of mind that have me too terrified to hook up with anyone.

Hold up just a second here. I hear this argument a lot but I personally find it really hypocritical. I’m just going to put this out there that I am a Heterosexual, cis, white male (I know, I’m almost the antichrist or something) but can we walk the path of logic for a second?

I have a physical attraction to women with shaved legs. Yes, I know thats awful, however, it’s something I have little to no control over much the same way a homosexual male is attracted to other males. I’m also physically attracted to the concept of a vagina (yes, it;s so terrifying to think about). I can’t help that anymore than a trans*woman who is pre op can help the fact that they are pre op.

Now, did you notice that not once in my response did I ever shame women for not shaving or for having a penis against their will? Hell, the last guy didn’t ether. I’m saying that if the LGBT community can’t help the way they are, I can’t help the way I am and I’m sure a lot of cis men can’t ether. That’s not a free card to harass and or shame in anyway, but it is severely hypocritical to tell somebody “You can’t physically like women who shave their legs” or “You have to be willing to fuck women who have penises”. It’s doesn’t work that way for us any more than it does for you.

There’s no point in leaving them open. I can’t compete with people who charge only $3-4 for their best quality stuff because they have a tablet and absolutely no concept of how much their fucking time is worth.

Never mind that all they’re doing is depressing prices to the point where artists who actually need to charge a realistic price for their work cannot. They probably have other means of support to subsidize such cut-rate prices. I don’t.

I can’t make enough to survive, much less save up for the fucking surgery I need. So what’s the point in leaving them open?

I seen some of the people’s art that do this.  It is not exactly the highest quality.

Friends, As an artist in her own right, may I make a suggestion?  When you are extending commissions take a lesson from the joker.  If you are good at something you should never do it for free.  I am a musician.  I write songs.  As such I would not write a song for someone, putting the time and effort into it for the rights to be sold off for 1 to 2 dollars.  It doesn’t add up.  If I were selling the song on a large scale like say on bandcamp or iTunes, I’d charge a dollar because that is the normal price for a complete song and odds are I will make much more then a dollar on that one song.  The point I am making is evaluate what your art is worth.  How much time and effort do you put into your art?  Then evaluate how much your time is worth to you.  If you honestly believe your time is worth 1/7th of minimum wage then either you need to reevaluate your abilities or you have worse self esteem issues then I do.  If you believe your time is worth 10 bucks an hour then figure up how long it takes to do one piece of art and charge that.  It is not overcharging.  It is asking a fair price for your time. When you water down your prices you aren’t just hurting your own wallet, you are hurting every other artist’s wallet as well.

As one of those cut rate artists, I charge what I believe my time is worth. I also worf 35-45 hours a week at my job which pays $8.25 an hour.

If I spend one hour on a commission (since I don’t do color commissions, that is about how much time I spend on them) I probably should only charge`$8 on it, however I also factor in the fact that I love doing it and that is half the reward, so I tend to charge about $5-$7 a commission. Thats fair to me and I’ll charge whatever the hell I want to.

It a free market. Compete.

You actually proved my point! You charge what you believe your work is worth.  That is perfectly fine.  I had seen a commission post earlier today that had full color for like 2 dollars!  That is a little crazy.  Obviously you aren’t doing that. You are being fair and that is perfectly fine! No one is complaining about that.  I know tdarkchylde sometimes spends upwards of 6 hours on a commission, She doesn’t have a full time job and she’s had to lower her costs just to compete.  That is why I mentioned it.

Sorry, I’m really used to getting hate for my low prices so I took an opportunity to do a small PSA
